Volando voy... rodando vengo... el making off

Pues si,
aquí estoy de nuevo, después de unos cuantos meses que casi podría describir como "gafes".

Me esguincé con muy mala suerte el pulgar derecho y tras 28 dias de inmovilización, he tenido una "artritis postraumática" de la que me recupero lentamente.
Esto ha acarreado el que todos los proyectos que estaba empezando o tenía en lista de espera hayan sufrido, como comprendereis, un considerable retraso.
Que más bien ha sido "atasco".

Pero poco a poco voy cogiendo de nuevo el ritmo y gracias a no excederme, a la ayuda de una fantástica muñequera y a la paciencia y comprensión de mis clientes todo va ya marchando. :D

 Aquí os dejo el proceso de mi último mural.
Está casi terminado, le quedan tres retoques y medio... (se me olvidó pintar el vapor de la máquina del tren!! ¿Dónde se ha visto un tren a vapor sin vapor?) y pequeños fallos por corregir.

Pronto podré enseñaros las fotos del resultado definitivo. Y si hay suerte, empezaremos otro más :D

Ok, here I am again, after a few months that I could almost describe as "cursed"

I was unlucky enough as to injuring my right thumb, and after 28 days of immobilization, I had a "traumatic arthritis" from what I'm recovering slowly.

The inmediate consecuence of this is that all projects which i was starting or where on the waiting list have suffered, as you will understand, a considerable delay.
They rather have been "stuck".
But I am slowly picking up the pace again and, thanks to not overdo, to a fantastic wrist support and the patience and understanding of my clients, everything is already rolling againg.

Here you have the process of my latest mural.
It's almost finished, maybe it needs another three touches and a half ... (I forgot to paint the machine steam! Who have ever seen a steam train without steam?) and other smaller faults have to be corrected....

Soon I will show you the photos of the final result. With luck, I'll start another one soon : D

Mural casitas

Perdonad que no haya posteado apenas últimamente. Estoy literalmente a tope de encargos y sola con los niños de lunes a viernes, situación ésta, que se prolongará, al menos, hasta Junio. Así que ya estoy esperando que llegue Enero y con él mi muy merecido descanso :D

No me mal interpreteis, no es que esté harta, me encanta mi trabajo, pero si que empiezo a notar el lógico cansancio de no parar 16h al dia...

 Este es el último mural que he hecho. Dormitorio infantil compartido por niño y niña. La pared del pueblo mide casi 5m de largo. En la pared azul, va una cama alta, con espacio de juegos debajo. Por eso los motivos están tan arriba.

Sigo sin una cámara de verdad, como veis... Cuando pasen las fiestas, espero tener tiempo de buscar una en condiciones.  :)

Sorry for the lack of posting lately... I'm buried in commisions for Christmas and alone with the kids from monday to friday. And this second situation will carry on at least until June... I'm allready whishing for January to come and with it, my very well earned hollidays :D 

Don't you please misunderstand me, it's not that I'm fed up, I love my job, but I'm beggining to feel the weight of 16h of "non-stop" a day...

This is the last mural painting I've been doing. It's a nice children bedroom shared by both girl and boy. The village wall it's almost 5m long. On the blue wall, there will be a bunk bed, with room to play underneath. That's why everything there goes so high up the wall

I'm still without a decent camera... After Chrismas time, I hope I'll be able to have time enough to find a real one.  :)

Sigo sin cámara.... estas fotos no son de la calidad que me gustaría... pero espero que os podais hacer una idea de cómo es mi último proyecto mural.

Una carrera de fitipaldis :D con su pueblo y todo... A ver si encontrais el buho, el gato, la liebre y la mariquita (bueno, la mariquita os la he dejado muy evidente jaja)

Es una pena que la foto sea tan cutre, apenas se distingue la linea blanca... pero es que no puedo estar sin postear y el asunto de la cámara nueva está tardando más de lo que esperaba. :(

I'm still without a decent camera... This pics havn´t the quality they deserve... but I hope you can make yourselves an idea how my last mural project is.

A speedy race :D with it's village and everything... Can you find the owl, the cat, the hare and the ladybird (Well, ladybird is pretty evident haha)

It's a shame the pics are so bad, i can hardly see the white line... but I can´t be without posting and this camera issue is getting too long, longer than I thought. :(

Un bosque en casa

Este es el último mural que he hecho para una familia que quería tener " el bosque en casa" y creo que lo conseguimos ;P.
Vieron el boceto del bosque que quedó huérfano y lo adaptamos para ellos. Aquí podeis ver el paso a paso.

This is the last mural painting i've done , for a family who wanted to have " the wood at home" and I think we did it ;P
They saw time ago the preparatory watercolor of a wood that became homeless and we adapted it to their needs. Here you can see the step by step process.


Primero, si la pared no está en perfecto estado "de revista" hay que limpiar y "corregir" la pared, es decir, tapar agujeros de taladro, grietas etc y si , como en este caso, hay un color inicial más oscuro de lo que queremos, hay que dar una mano o dos de blanco y dejar secar

First, if the wall is not exactly perfect, a bit of cleanning is needed as well as"correcting" (get rid of holes or litle cracks etc ) and if, like here, the shade we have is darker than we need, we'll need a layer or two of white paint and enough drying before we can start painting


Después se hace una base sobre la que pintar. En este caso es un bosque, y queríamos darle profundidad y crear un poco de "atmósfera" ya que el salón donde se realizó no es muy grande. Para ello vas cubriendo a brochazos irregulares la pared con los tonos adecuados y luego se unifica todo un poco como si "desenfocáras" el dibujo difuminando con esponja o una brocha grande

After that, as it will be a forrest, we need to paint a base to create the ilusion of depth and a misty atmosphere, also needed because the living room was not too big. For that I covered the wall with irregular brushstrokes and difernt shades of green and yellow and then blurred all a bit using a spounge or a dry broad brush



después van creciendo los árboles. Primero usa un tono claro para así poder corregir errores más facilmente, oscurecer lo que te interese que quede en primer plano o añadir texturas etc.. y no hagas muchos detalles ahora

Now, the trees are growing. First use a pale shade so you can correct errors easier, darken what you want to be close-up , add texture etc.. Don't paint too much details now



Por último añade las texturas (el tronco central lleva hasta papel de periódico) y añade los detalles como las hojas o las estrías del tronco.

Finally add texture (the central tree has glued newspaper bits) and details like the leaves or the lines of the trunk

I.F.String

Un cordón de barcas esperando al nuevo día en Coria del Río (río Guadalquivir). Es el último encargo de pintura, entregado hace un par de meses. Me pareció apropiado para incluirlo en el tema que propone esta semana Illustration Friday Habría preferido hacer algo nuevo, pero últimamente me es muy difícil, y ya me habeis pedido algunos de vosotros que vuelva a postear (¿verdad, Marina? como ves, no me olvido). Intentaré postear más con cosas nuevas a partir de la semana que viene, pero de momento, sólo lo puedo hacer en el estudio, y estoy hasta arriba de trabajo (¡gracias a Dios!).

A string of boats waiting for the new day in Coria del Río (Guadalquivir river, Spain). His is the last commisioned artwork i've done, gave away a couple of months ago. I thought it fitted into this week I.F.'s topic "string" (At least it makes sense in Spanish) I would rather have done something new, but, lately it's very difficult to me to find some peace to draw by hand, and some of you have already asked me to post again. I'll try to post with new stuff up to next week, but, at the moment, I can just do it from The Studio, and I'm pilled up with work right now (Thanks God!)

más murales para el estudio

Me gustaría tener una cámara panorámica o un gran angular para poder mostraros el estudio como Dios manda, pero nos tendremos que conformar con lo que hay, así que imaginaos el mural alrededor vuestro... Por fin lo hemos terminado :D ya sólo quedan las puertas... a ver cuándo tenemos tiempo de nuevo... paciencia!

I whish I had a panoramic view camera or so to show the studio as it deserves, but it will have to do so, please, imagine that the mural flows around you.... Finally it´s finished :D the doors are the only thing left to do... let´s see when we have again time to do them... be patience!
